Yellow Pine Guest Ranch offers several great activities for the entire family… enjoy a trail ride on horseback, explore nature’s beauty on a hike, try your hand at casting a fly rod on the pond, or just sit under a tree and listen to the relaxing sounds of the Cucharas River… all without leaving the ranch.

Horseback Riding
Horseback trail rides provide a relaxing tour of the ranch pastures, streams, and forest. Horseback rides are available during the summer months to adults and children ages 8 years and up. Reservations are required. Please inquire when making your lodging request ($75 per person).

Fishing
The main ranch pond is regularly stocked, and guests are required to pay $4 per fish caught in the pond. Pond fishing is limited to 4 fish per day per person – no catch and release.

Barbecues
Weekly summer barbecues feature ribs, brisket, and chicken as well as coleslaw, potato salad, warm dinner rolls, and homemade dessert. Listen to guitar-playing and singing as you enjoy your meal, and roast marshmallows by the campfire as the sun sets over the mountains. Reservations are required — please inquire when making your lodging request.

Meeting Barn
A large meeting barn (capacity 60) is available by reservation to ranch guests.

Marshmallow Roasts
Marshmallow roasts are a popular way of ending the night after the weekly barbecues.

Playscape
Playscape is centrally located on the ranch and provides a fun way for kids from different cabins to play together. There is also a sand volleyball court and horseshoes set up nearby.

Hiking to Ridge
A relatively short hike up to the east ridge of the ranch provides far-reaching views of the area and the ranch and a nice perch to watch the sunset.

River Walks
Enjoy walking along 1 1/2 miles of the Cucharas River frontage or sitting on one of the rivers’ benches as you absorb the splendor and beauty of this peaceful setting, listening to the rivers’ song and being mesmerized by the magnificent views!
